Delegating

A good leader delegates to:

  • Share the responsibility of getting the job done;
  • Develop mutual trust and self-confidence in co-workers; and
  • Help build future leadership for the organization.

Delegating well depends on recognizing that the leader cannot do everything alone because:

  • There are not enough hours in the day;
  • Everyone has personal priorities; and
  • Delegating builds new leadership.
